Noise is the biggest cause of overstimulation. Just find a quiet place in the Netherlands! The applications in the Boodie muffle the sound. This allows you to experience less discomfort in the theatre or during meetings with many people. Does the Boodie still not muffle enough for you? Then wear earplugs or headphones with ‘noice cancelling’ underneath.
Damping light
The Boodie hat features a beautifully designed flap/rim that blocks and dampens light. You pull the hat over your head (eyes) as far as you like. Does the Boodie still not block the light enough for you? Then wear sunglasses or other light-blocking glasses underneath.
Free and versatile
One size
You can easily wear the Boodie over your clothes. One size model, to be worn over a jumper (winter) or shirt (summer). Soft material with kangaroo pocket. The zip design takes one-sided paralysed people into account.
Feel good pouch
The Boodie is a kangaroo rat that lives in Australia. We integrated the kangaroo's pouch into the Boodie to enhance the feel-good feeling. You can entwine your hands in the pouch and rest them on your belly. This often makes it easier to stay with yourself, breathe calmly and feel the warmth.
At the overstimulation conference, occupational therapists told us that children with autism can benefit from wearing a pressure vest or an aggravation blanket. These aids can be worn under the Boodie, not visible to anyone!
Colour
We initially chose two colours of Boodies; light blue and black. The slash, incorporated into the zip, represents inclusivity. Our mission is that everyone in our society can participate. An important part of that is enjoying arts and culture. Consider whether you want to close the zip with your left or right hand.

The Boodie comes in a comfortable oversized fit that fits everyone. On our webshop and instagram feed, you will see different models with various sizes all wearing the same Boodie size. Of course, the hood is nice and snug so that outside noise is blocked out as much as possible. Would you like to try on or rent the Boodie? You can do so at Heikeshandel (heikeshandel.nl).
The Boodie is an all-season vest. Sleeveless allows you to wear the vest with a camisole in summer and a jumper in winter.
Beyond comfort, wearability and fit, we set high standards for production. The production of the Boodie is done with support from Gray-label https://gray-label.com/ (blue and black Boodie) and the sewing workshop of Thread and deed Wire and Deed (Green Boodie). We strive to minimise our impact on the environment. Our guiding principle is to produce high-quality items that last several life cycles.
It is best to wash the cotton Boodie “cold” or up to 30 degrees, inside out and with a liquid fine detergent. Do not wash with denim but with similar colours and absolutely do not tumble dry. Please note that cotton is a natural product, which can discolour over time.
Because you wear the Boodie over your clothes (like a jacket), you don't need to wash it as much, making it last a long time.
All parcels within the Netherlands are shipped with PostNL.

Boodies are made in small batches and carefully hand-packed. Hence the delivery time is slightly longer than for regular products. You will receive your order no later than 4 weeks after we have received your payment.
